My party sucks. Big time. I'm not sure I want to be in a political party with such apalling judgement. Guðrún Ögmundsdóttur will no longer be a member of parliament, as a result of the primary elections.
What the bleeding heck is wrong with you people? Here is one person, who more than ANYONE in the party has dedicated her work to those who never have anyone to speak for them. If someone is the epitomy of what a good social democrat should be like, it's her. She almost single handedly wrote the law on equal rights for gays. And - THIS is the thanks she gets? Are you KIDDING me?
Oh, incidentally - the only MP for the social democrats whose bill passed on to become a law... ooh, musn't let someone like that back into the parliament. She might have made a HABIT of it. Grrrr. I'm looking to crack skulls.

Another appalling result of the weekend: Looks like Árni Johnson is getting back into parliament. For those of you not in the know:
Árni Johnson used to be a member of parliament. Using the postition entrusted to him by the people of the country he continued to rob them blind. For which he was finally sentenced to jail.
NOt only is he a thief, he's the worst kind of thief, using his position of trust to screw people over. I'd rather have a drugsmuggler in parliament than him back.
And not only this, but the man is a known racist, sexist, homophobe who is also, on occastion violent(remember when he punched Hreimur?).
I tell you. The people of the Westman Islands must have COTTON instead of brains to vote him back. Sure he gives them a lot of stuff... but if you can't trust it not to be ill gotten - how can you honestly accept it?
Ooh, remember the Þjóðhátíð when Árni was in jail and the Westman Islanders were unbelievably HURT that he hadn't been let out of JAIL to join the party. They HONESTLY expected him to be let out of prison to SING for them.

God I'm furious.
